Nippon Express

With multiple distribution centers located in the South and West of the Netherlands in particular, Nippon Express is one of the largest logistics service providers in the Netherlands. We are currently doing business with a number of these distribution centers that are located in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. The European Logistic Center on the Maasvlakte, also known as ELC 3, is one of the highlights of Nippon Express. This distribution center, which has only been active since 2015, is the largest distribution center located on the Maasvlakte, with more than 100,000 square meters. ELC 3 functions as a European hub for electronics giant Canon. In addition to this location, we have a partnership with 4 other locations that hire temporary workers every day. That's why it's an ideal environment for you to develop yourself into a full-time logistics worker.

Work

Within Nippon Express it is possible to perform various functions. From warehouse worker to forklift driver and from inventory employee to installer, everything is possible within Nippon Express. If you start within Nippon Express without experience in logistics, you will first be included in the training program. This way you will be trained to be a full warehouse worker within a few days, making you versatile for the planners. If you do not find this enough and you think it is great to drive a forklift or reach truck, we can also arrange all that for you within Nippon Express. Because there are so many options within Nippon Express, the starting salary is € 9.87 gross per hour excluding surcharges, which can amount to € 11.36 gross per hour excluding surcharges. You decide where your ceiling is, the amount of possibilities will not be the problem!

• Working hours

Most of the distribution centers with which we do business are open from 06:00 to 00:00 on weekdays. There are two shifts. One shift is from 06:00 to 15:00 and the other shift is from 15:00 to 00:00. During a shift you are present for 9 hours and you get paid 8 hours, so you automatically have 1 hour of breaks which is divided into twice a quarter and once a half an hour. If you do not like working in these shifts, there is also a possibility to work in the day shift, then you will work from 08:00 to 17:00 or from 09:00 to 18:00. During the day shifts you are not entitled to shift allowances, the overtime allowances do apply in the day shift.

• Shifts and surcharges

As described above, Nippon Express works in shifts and this certainly has its advantages. If it is the case that you are going to participate in a shift, you will receive a bonus of 15% for every hour worked.

Nippon Express also applies an overtime allowance of 150% and 200%. The 150% overtime allowance starts when you work more than 8 hours a day and the overtime is between 06:00 and 00:00. You are entitled to an overtime allowance of 200% if you work more than 8 hours a day and the overtime falls within 00:00 and 06:00.

• Transport

The Nippon Express distribution centers are all within a maximum 45-minute drive from our accommodation. If you choose to be a driver, which of course has a fee, you have to take into account a slightly longer travel time since you still have to bring colleagues home. If you prefer not to be a driver, we arrange that you are both picked up and brought home.
